Hop Light | North Island Craft Beer Festival

about us

This grassroots festival was built from the ground up, fueled by our love of craft beer and the desire to make a difference here in our hometown of Campbell River, BC.

The North Island Craft Beer Festival isn’t just an event—it’s a community effort born from a lifelong love of the North Island and a passion for connecting over quality brews.

A Community Event

We live, work, and play right here in Campbell River. Through our roles as middle school teachers, we’re constantly inspired by the strength and spirit of this community. We wanted to create something that not only brings folks together but also puts Campbell River on the map. Our idea was simple: give people a reason to come, stay, and enjoy the city—and raise a glass to the hard work that keeps this town thriving.

With family ties that run deep in Campbell River, including a longstanding connection with the Campbell River Community Foundation, we saw this festival as a social way to invest in our community. It’s been an adventure, but it’s one we’re grateful to share with so many others who believe in the same things we do: good beer, good people, and giving back to a place we’re proud to call home.

Our mission

Hops Green | North Island Craft Beer Festival

Celebrate Campbell River

This city has grit, heart, and some of the best people around. By hosting a quality event, we’re giving folks a reason to explore Campbell River, support local businesses, and discover what makes this town unique.

Give Back to Community

This festival isn’t just about beer. It’s about making a real impact. Through our first three festivals, we’ve been able to donate over $67,000 to the Campbell River Community Foundation. These funds directly support meaningful local causes in our community.

Celebrate Craft Beer

We’re craft beer enthusiasts, plain and simple. This festival is our way of sharing that passion with the North Island, bringing in unique fermented beverages from around the region to add a little more craft to our coast.
